Jeep's all-electric, Trail Rated SUV, with removable doors and glass and 670 hp. Here is what the Recon Moab offers, how far it goes and how fast it charges, what it can do off pavement, and how it compares with the Wrangler and other EVs.
The Recon launches in one trim, the Moab. It's built on Stellantis' STLA Large unibody platform at the Toluca Assembly plant in Mexico, and Jeep says it's the only fully electric vehicle to be Trail Rated.
| Item | 2026 Recon Moab |
|---|---|
| EPA range, combined | 222 miles |
| EPA range, city / highway | 250 / 196 miles |
| EPA efficiency | 80 city / 62 highway / 71 combined MPGe; 47.6 kWh/100 mi |
| Battery | 100.5 kWh lithium-ion, 400-volt |
| DC fast charging | 5-80% in about 28 min; about 100 miles in 10 min (Jeep estimate) |
| Level 2 (240V) | 5-80% in about 6.8 hours; EPA lists 9.4 hours for a full charge |
| Level 1 (120V) | 5-80% in about 52 hours |
| Tesla Superchargers | Access with a NACS adapter |
Range drops in cold weather, at sustained highway speeds and off-road, so the highway figure is the better guide for long trips. Earlier launch reports said "up to 250 miles"; the EPA rating of 222 miles is the number to plan around.
Most Recon owners will do most of their charging at home. A 120V outlet is too slow to be practical at about 52 hours for 5-80%, so plan on a 240V Level 2 setup, which handles 5-80% in about 6.8 hours, overnight for most drivers. Jeep lists a Level 1/Level 2 combination charge cord for the Recon.

Jeep lists more than 170 standard safety and security features, including Pedestrian Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring and Rough Road Cruise Control.
The Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid has been discontinued, so the choice is now an electric Recon or a gas Wrangler. Choose the Recon if you want to stop buying gas, can charge at home, and want 670 hp with removable doors and glass. Choose the Wrangler, offered with a 2.0L turbo, 3.6L V6 or 6.4L V8, if you take long trips away from fast chargers or want the Wrangler's dedicated rock-crawling hardware.
The Recon trades some range and efficiency for capability. The 2027 Rivian R2 Performance AWD on all-terrain tires is EPA-rated at 307 miles, the 2027 Rivian R1S at 289 to 329 miles depending on version, and the Tesla Model Y AWD at 294 miles. The Recon's answers are its Trail Rated status, removable doors and glass, and 0-60 in 3.6 seconds.
An Overland trim is planned to join the Moab, and Jeep estimates it will reach up to 240 miles of range. EPA ratings for the Overland aren't out yet.
The 2026 Recon Moab is EPA-rated at 222 miles combined. Cold weather, high speeds and off-road driving reduce range.
Jeep says DC fast charging takes it from 5% to 80% in about 28 minutes, and a 240V Level 2 charger does the same in about 6.8 hours.
