Every one of these cars has standard AWD, which is a big part of why the times are so close to the power figures on paper. Four driven wheels put the power down without much wheelspin off the line.
Both Sixpack trims use the 3.0L Hurricane twin-turbo inline-6 and an 8-speed automatic. The R/T's Standard Output engine runs up to 22 psi of boost and makes its full torque from 2,500 rpm. The Scat Pack's High Output engine runs up to 30 psi, adding 130 hp, which is worth seven tenths of a second to 60 mph in Dodge's estimates. The old HEMI Chargers are gone, and both Sixpack engines make more power than the V8s they replaced: 50 hp more for the R/T and 65 hp more for the Scat Pack.
PowerShot is a button on the Charger Daytona that adds 40 hp for 10 seconds. That is where the "up to 670 hp" figure comes from. It's built for exactly the kind of run measured on this page: a hard launch, a highway merge, or a pass on a two-lane road. Once the 10 seconds are up, the car returns to its normal output.
Launch Control manages engine or motor output and wheelspin at the start, so the car leaves the line the same way every time without the driver feathering the pedal. Use these features at a track or drag strip, not on public roads. Daytona buyers also get one day at Radford Racing School with purchase.
Announced in August 2026, the Super Bee Launch Edition uses a High Output Hurricane inline-6 developed with SRT, rated at 600 hp and 531 lb-ft. Dodge's figures are 3.6 seconds to 60 mph and 11.8 seconds in the quarter mile. It keeps standard AWD and adds a lowered, stiffer chassis, adaptive dampers, Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires in 305/35ZR20 and Hyper Lime Brembo brakes with 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers. Dodge says it is coming soon and has not announced an on-sale date. Contact us if you want to hear when it arrives.
The Daytona is the quickest Charger, but it's an electric car with a different daily routine. If you're weighing the two, our Sixpack vs Daytona guide covers range, fuel economy and charging, and the 2-door vs 4-door guide covers the body choice.
